World Bank, Energy Minister strategise to make ECG more efficient

The World Bank Country Director, Mr Pierre Laporte and his team have called on the Minister for Energy, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, yesterday to discuss pressing matters of mutual interest.

This included relief our debt load, pragmatic solutions to making Eletrocoty Company of Ghana (ECG) more viable and working with the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) for cost-reflective tariffs.

“I was also given an update on the progress of some of the Bank’s projects like the Program-for-Results (p4R) financing project amongst others,” Dr Opoku Prempeh said.

He thanked the team for their continued support to his ministry.

He assured them that Ghana will continue to do its part in settling its debt and emerge with innovative solutions to make ECG more efficient.
