Bernard Kwame in court over alleged false publication against Aowin Chief

The Kaneshie District Court 1 presided over by Her Honour Rosemond Agyiri, has adjourned the case titled the Republic vrs. Bernard Kwame Mussey to 18th March 2021.

The accused person who is a lecturer at the Takoradi Technical University pleaded not guilty to the charges of Publication of false news and offensive conduct.

The Prosecutor, Detective Inspector, Richard Amoah of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police Headquarters told the court that the complainant, Beyeeman Tano Kwaw Benbuin III, who is the Paramount Chief of Aowin Traditional area Enchi, reported to the police that the accused person Bernard Kwame Mussey has consistently been publishing several false and offensive information about him on Facebook since he was enstooled as chief in March 2019.

The prosecution stated that the accused was arrested and during the investigation, it was established that the accused changed his Facebook account name just to hide his identity on social media and used the same in posting that false information.

Yaw Danquah, Lawyer for the accused was able to secure bail for him with two sureties after the Suspect pleaded not guilty to the charges.
