2020 elections: Akufo-Addo declares voting day a public holiday

President Akufo-Addo has, by executive instrument, declared Monday, December 7, 2020, as a public holiday.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugen Arhin.

The statement said the decision by the President is to facilitate the conduct of the election in the contest of the COVID-19 pandemic, help ensure strict observance of COVID-19 safety protocols on election day and enable unable registered voters to exercise their franchise.
