Bawumia to commission free wi-fi project on new GIJ campus

The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is set to commission free Wi-fi at the new site of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) on November 20, 2020.

This forms part of the government’s initiative of free wi-fi to tertiary institutions to aid learning among students and broaden their scope of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) and research.

It would be recalled that Dr. Bawumia during the NPP’s manifesto launch in August this year stated that the party when retained in the December polls, will provide senior high and tertiary schools with free wifi.

However, the government is expected to complete the free wi-fi initiative by the year 2021.
