Rawlings’ death: National flag should fly at half-mast for 7 days – Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo has announced seven days of national mourning, commencing from November 13 to  November 20, 2020.

The President has also directed that the national flag should fly at half-mast for the next seven days in all parts of the country.

Former President Jerry John Rawlings died in the early hours of Thursday at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.

He promised government will work closely with the family of Mr. Rawlings on the arrangements of the fitting state funeral for the late President.

“A great tree has fallen, and Ghana is poorer for this loss,” he said in a statement.
