Adom TV’s award-winning presenter, Patrick Osei Agyemang, popularly known as Countryman Songo, is calling on Ghana Box Authority (GBA) to withdraw the license of boxer Patrick Allotey who was caught on camera beating a Kotoko fan at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The ‘Fire4Fire’ presenter made the call on his show, saying the boxer violates the codes of ethics of the boxing profession and that the boxer’s action must not be allowed to go without punishment.
The GBA has described as unfortunate and unlawful the actions of boxer Patrick Allotey.
The boxer was captured on a video inflicting punches on a fan who was celebrating Kotoko’s 2-1 victory over Accra Hearts of Oak last Sunday.
The Spokesperson of the GBA, Sammy Heywood Okine said the President of the authority is livid and has called for a meeting to discuss possible sanctions for the boxer.
Sammy Heywood Okine stated that the actions of the boxer violate the codes of ethics of his profession and the GBA will soon come out with a punishment that will serve as a deterrent to other boxers.
He maintained that the GBA has a zero-tolerance policy towards boxer indiscipline and will crack the whip on Allotey.
He noted that per the rules of the GBA, the boxer is likely to get either a permanent or temporal ban.
