“Let me begin with this Quote, “we will go into 2020 elections with our own referee”, Johnson Asiedu Nketia.
Fellow comrades, the walkout staged by NDC and the three other political parties from the demonstration of new biometric registration equipment, has not stopped the EC from their plan of preparing a new voter register which is a top NPP agenda.
One alternative available to the NDC or any individual to stop the EC from this needless compilation of a new register or to ensure the national interest is the law court. Abu Ramadan’s case in mind.
The same can’t be said now that President Nana Addo has appointed Justice Anin Yeboah to the position of Chief Justice.
Anybody who followed the election petition in 2013 very well will have no doubt that any electoral issue that will go against the NPP/EC will not receive a fair hearing in the courts.
We can be raising the necessary issues against the EC in the court of public opinion for the public to judge. Let us be our own Jean Mensah and Justice Anin Yeboah on the field and at the polling stations where elections are won. This is the time for “boot for boot”.
Let us move to the grounds now to prepare our members and that of Ghanaians for the new voter register. This is the path for victory in 2020, “VAR” will not work because those who will manage the system are in Nana Addo’s pocket.
We will not lose anything as a party if there is a change of mind by the EC.
