How Akufo-Addo arrived safely after a near-fatal plane crash

President Akufo-Addo together with the delegation that traveled to the United States for the 73rd United Nation Assembly has safely arrived in Ghana after a near-fatal accident with the Presidential jet in Washington.

The presidential delegation arrived home at 8:00 am on Sunday.

Information gathered concerning the accident is that after about 20 minutes into the flight from Washington to Accra, the aircraft developed a challenge with one of its engines.

And the pilot informed the passengers including the President  accordingly.

A decision was made to land the aircraft in Washington Dallas airport, but they first required about one hour of flight to dispose of some of the fuel that was on board.

Subsequently, the flight landed safely at Dallas Airport in Washington and the president and his delegation got onto a commercial flight, a South African Airways flight and arrived in Accra at 8:00 am Sunday.

The trip was successful all in all.

The Information Minister-designate, Mr. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah,  briefing the media after the President’s arrival,  puts on record that Nana Akufo-Addo,  who still uses his private vehicle for state affairs, has no intention of purchasing a new presidential jet.
