The Ekumfi Fruits and Juices Company Limited, the first factory President Akufo-Addo inaugurated at Ekumfi under the One-District-One-Factory project in 2017, is now being used to produce pure water.
The facility, which is the biggest fruits processing factory in West Africa, with the capacity to process 10 tons of fruits per hour, Rev. Christian Kwabena Andrews, popularly known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom, said complete falsehood.
“I have evidence that the factory is not working. I have video evidence with workers working to produce pure water,” he stressed.
Mrs. Gifty Ohene-Konadu, National Coordinator of the 1D1F policy, who paid an inspection tour to the factory told the media she was satisfied with the work done.
But speaking on U TV’s ‘Mpu ne Mpu’ on Friday, the leader of the new party, Ghana Union Movement (GUM), Rev. Andrews maintained the Ekumfi Fruits and Juices Company Limited has rather employed people to produce pure water for sale.
He, therefore, challenged government officials in charge of the factory to produce evidence that the factory is producing fruits as it was supposed to do.
Rev. Andrews, who doubles as the Founder and General Overseer of the Life Assembly Worship Centre, recently formed the new political party – Ghana Union Movement – with its slogan “Arise for Development.”
The movement’s symbol has a logo which portrays a fist of a man against two hands with the name and motto of the movement boldly written around it.
It has red, yellow and white as its colours.
He also promised to break the hold the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have on the Ghanaian electorate since 1992.
He said the party is preparing to win power in the 2020 elections.
According to him, “our intention is not to sabotage any individual, government or political party but to contribute to the democratic shaping of Ghana’s development, especially the well-being of the citizens.”
