Nancy Patricia Pelosi, the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, as part of her visit to Ghana, is scheduled to address Parliament on Wednesday, July 31 at 10am.
The former California Representative will be part of an entourage of US lawmakers to visit Ghana before Parliament goes on break on Friday, August 2, 2019.
Mr Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, Majority Leader, presenting the Business Statement for the tenth week ending Friday, 2nd August, 2019 stated, that Nancy Pelosi is scheduled to address the House at 1000 hours.
He therefore urged Members of Parliament (MPs) to be punctual to grant audience to the United States, House Speaker.
As Speaker of the House, Pelosi is second in the presidential line of succession, immediately after the Vice President.
The US congressional delegation led by Speaker of the House of Representatives arrived in Ghana on Sunday for a four-day state visit.
The delegation includes controversial Congresswoman for Minnesota Ilhan Omar, who together with three other progressive Democrats have been at loggerheads with President Trump.
On the trip to Ghana also includes House Majority Whip, James Clyburn and other Representatives of African descent.
Ms Pelosi is a member of the Democratic Party.
She has served as speaker of the United States House of Representatives since January 2019.
She is the only woman to have held that office and is the highest-ranking elected woman in United States history.
As Speaker of the House, she is second in the presidential line of succession, immediately after the Vice President.
