The leadership of the Coalition for National Sovereignty (CNS) has announced the indefinite postponement of the ‘Wore Ku Hen’ Demo slated for June 27, 2019 in Takoradi.
The postponement, the group said, was occasioned by the role being played by key members of the coalition in the limited registration exercise and the need for absolute vigilance in such an important exercise, especially as operatives of the ruling NPP party have been arrested for fraudulently possessing registration materials and illegally conducting registration exercise in homes of NPP apparatchiks at unofficial hours.
A press statement signed by the Convener of CNS, Bernard Mornah, warned the Jean Mensah led Electoral Commission (EC) that the members of the coalition remains vigilante and keenly monitoring what is considered already bastardized, haphazardly organized and poorly conducted limited registration exercise, that is replete with irredeemable irregularities.
The leadership of the coalition disclosed that it will announce a new date for the Takoradi demonstration in due course.
The group encouraged “all progressives to be vigilante in our bid to resist the oppressors ploy to perpetuate its misrule in our beloved country, by rigging elections through electoral malfeasance and deliberate systemic manipulations.”
