The Chairman of the National Premix Fuel Committee, Nii Lante Bannerman, has donated 1,500 mathematical sets and pens to Basic Education Certificate Examination candidates within the Ashiedu Keteke district.
A total of 517,332 final year Junior High School (JHS) students will write this years’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) from Monday, 10th to the 14th of June, 2019.
The donation formed part of an ongoing programme aimed at improving upon the academic well being of students within the district.
Other programmes initiated by the Nii Lante Bannerman include the extra free tuition sessions for SHS and JHS students, which has been running all year long.
In all, BECE candidates from 24 schools within the district benefited from the donation.
They include, Richard Akwei Memorial School, Independence Avenue School, Akoto Lante JHS, Bishop Mixed School, Bishop Boy’s School, Bishop Girls School, Private Odartey Lamptey School, Derby Avenue School, Hansen Road JHS, God Wisdom Preparatory School, New Order Preparatory, among others.
At one of his presentations at the John Wesley Junior High School, Nii Lante Bannerman told students to reflect soberly on all what they have been taught and to give a good account of themselves with confidence in their examination.
He asked that they read questions thoroughly and not in haste before attempting to answer them.
He again made a passionate appeal to the students to eschew all forms of examination malpractices to avoid cancellation of their papers, observe and adhere strictly to the rules and regulations governing the conduct of the examination and advised teachers to also refrain from interfering in the examination process.
He opined that success awaits them and urged all students to look up to him and the many that the community had produced as role models.
In a show of appreciation, the students thanked Nii Lante Bannerman for the kind gesture and prayed that God blesses him with more so he can contribute to the academic well being of students within the district.
Nii Lante Bannerman was accompanied by the Deputy General Secretary of the ruling New Patriot Party, Nii Laryea Squire, some Constituency Executives of the NPP in Odododiodioo, the media among others.
