Ayorkor Botchwey gets special award

The World Lebanese Cultural Union, a non-governmental organisation, which is the sole representative of the Lebanese people in the Diaspora has presented an award to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration and a special award to the sector Minister, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey for promoting excellent relations with the Lebanese community in Ghana.

The World President of the World Lebanese Cultural Union, Mr. Chakib Rammal, commended Ghana for cooperating with the Lebanese community in Ghana since 1884. He stated that the friendship between the two countries had been mutually beneficial.

Mr. Rammal expressed his country’s appreciation to the Ghana Armed Forces for helping with peacekeeping operations in Lebanon for over 35 years.

He also thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration for facilitating trade and investment between the two countries.

Receiving the awards for her, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Charles Owiredu, recalled the long standing relations between the two countries.

He acknowledged the contributions of the Lebanese community to Ghana’s development and thanked the NGO for the award and called for further collaboration and investment for the mutual benefit of the two countries.
